Final Map CarpSlam V

6/17/2011 – Beat Committee: Michael Gracie, Tyler Kendrick and Jake McKittrick.

They are, IMO, excellent, having taken into account size in relation to well known carp holding areas, existing construction along the river, etc. We’ve also thrown in a few ditches

- Dartmouth and Hampden are very large, but since they are hit-or-miss sections Harvey Park (designated as Dartmouth Plus and Hampden Plus) has been added to each. The decision to venture out there can be done by a flip of a coin between the two beat teams that hold it, with the choice to go being final. And yes, Harvey is part of the SP drainage.

- Invesco has been tightened up, due to nearby construction.

- 23rd Street has been added.

- Franklin Street includes part of The Ditch and the Riverside Cemetery pond.

- The Ditch, from the southern edge of the related beat to the concrete improvements, is now in bounds for the York Road beat, but the beat itself has been tightened up.

- Sand Creek is at 64th Ave, and includes “The Aquarium” and the creek itself, plus the area past the 270 bridge

- 74th is another big one, and includes part of Clear Creek

- 104th officially includes the ponds

In summary, these beats have been laid out for a singular purpose, posting numbers. Not accessibility to covered parking, public restrooms, 7-11s, or strip clubs. Availability of fish…period.
